Olena Zhunda is a collaborative pianist and dedicated educator at Performance Academy of Music, offering high-quality private piano lessons in Charlotte, including piano lessons in Matthews. She works with students of all ages, providing piano lessons for kids, piano lessons for children, and piano lessons for adults in a supportive and engaging environment.
Originally from Mariupol, Ukraine, Olena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and a Master’s degree in Music Education with a specialization in piano. During her academic career, she performed with orchestras and earned recognition in a national competition, building a strong foundation in both performance and pedagogy. She also gained early teaching experience working with young children, introducing them to music and rhythm fundamentals.
With over seven years of experience as one of our skilled piano instructors, Olena is known for her patience, attentiveness, and ability to connect with each student. Her teaching philosophy is centered around a personalized learning experience, helping students develop confidence, creativity, and strong technical skills. Her students have successfully participated in international competitions, reflecting her commitment to excellence.
Olena’s lessons incorporate essential musical skills such as sight-reading, improvisation, composition, and music theory. She offers beginner piano lessons, as well as intermediate and advanced instruction, and engaging piano classes for children designed to inspire long-term musical growth.
In addition to teaching, Olena serves as a pianist for several Charlotte-area churches and is currently a staff pianist at Wingate University in North Carolina, further enriching her teaching with real-world performance experience.
